Genre Dance Classes at KCC
A beautiful complement to classical training — or simply a class to enjoy each week.
Classical ballet is, and always will be, at the heart of KCC. Our Genre Dance Classes have been thoughtfully introduced to give our young dancers the opportunity to explore different styles of movement while continuing to build upon the beautiful foundations developed through classical ballet.
For our KCC ballerinas, training in additional genres can bring another dimension to their development as dancers. Exploring different movement qualities, rhythms and styles encourages greater musicality, coordination, versatility, confidence, dynamics and performance quality — skills that can beautifully enrich and complement their classical training.
Our Genre Dance Classes are also warmly open to children who are not enrolled in the KCC Ballet Program. These classes offer the opportunity to experience the care, quality and intimate teaching environment of KCC while simply enjoying a chosen style of dance each week.
Simply Dance 🤍
Genre Dance Classes are designed to be a beautifully simple, standalone weekly experience.
There are no additional commitments, performances or annual requirements attached to enrolment. Simply choose your class, attend each week and enjoy dancing.
Our End-of-Year Demonstration & Awards Evening, annual photoshoot, excursions, special events, annual KCC T-shirt and other treasured KCC traditions remain part of the wider KCC Ballerina Experience connected to students enrolled in our classical ballet program.
This means families joining us exclusively for Genre Dance Classes can enjoy KCC without committing to the broader calendar of activities that accompanies our ballet program.
For our KCC ballerinas, these classes are an opportunity to broaden their movement vocabulary and enrich their classical training.
For our genre-only dancers, they are a welcoming little space to learn, move, grow in confidence and discover the joy of dance.
One beautiful class each week. No strings attached. 🤍
